Health Information Exchange?

A service to safely and electronically send and receive the medical charts of people(patient) who agreed to provide personal information to and from medical institutions in order to secure continuity of treatment so that the doctor can refer to the patient treatment

Purpose

People(Patient
  • Reinforce patient safety with fast and quick response of treatment in reference to treatment history
  • Reduce medical cost by minimizing duplicate treatment and prescription
  • Improve access to and convenience of medical service
Medical Institutions
  • Reinforce medical continuity by referring to medical history
  • Reinforce fast treatment support and collaboration network by establishing medical information exchange system
  • Improve quality of medical service and support decision making by providing medical information such as continuous prescription and examination results

    Health information exchange service can provide safe and effective medical service by removing duplicate prescription and reducing risk of misdiagnosis with collaboration system between medical institutions
  • Accurate Medical Service
    Medical staff can continue remaining medical service and treatment of patients by checking the medical and treatment history of patients for the period after the patient applies the service
  • Easy to Carry/Convey Medical Information
    Medical institutions can use medical information conveniently and easily through sending and receiving of medical information between medical institutions with subscription to health information exchange service while medical information should be managed by patients at the time of request and sending back so that patients can receive timely and suitable medical service from suitable medical staff at the suitable medical institutions according to medical delivery system.

Consent to Health Information Exhcange

Apply for Health Information Exchange Service (consent to collection, use and provision of personal information)

Method 1 Consent at Public Portal

  • Consent to collection and use of personal information for health information exchange through verification at Health Information Exchange portal(MyChart, mychart.kr)

Method 2 Consent by visiting Medical Institution(digital or written)

  • Directly visit the medical institution participating at health information exchange project and submit a consent on collection, use and provision of personal information for health information exhcnage
